Today I was matriculated as a new student of Oxford University. It was a short but impressive experience. Photos will be up soon!

Freshers' Week has finished. It's been disorienting but also very enjoyable, and the Name Game is beginning to become easier.
My name's Matt Wood, but many people call me Mattus. I'm a 19-year-old student from Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire.
I'm currently reading for my undergraduate degree in History and German at Hertford College, Oxford.
I'm interested in indie/rock music, cars, pubbing and socialising, IT and, of course, the opposite sex.
I enjoy writing (not essays!) and intend to get involved in journalism whilst here in Oxford.
As of now I'm jobless but, thanks to the student loan, temporarily financially comfortable.
So we learn that 140,000 ballot papers were spoiled in the recent Scottish elections, representing 7% of the votes cast. The do-gooders are up in arms, decrying the supposed complexity of the ballot papers and condemning the decision to hold a first past the post election on the same day as one conducted under the single transferable vote system. Personally, I don't see the problem. Each paper was very clearly...
